Like all reports of abuse in the bankruptcy system, the UST will
determine whether the reported allegations warrant an investigation or
other enforcement action. The UST will investigate or bring enforcement
actions in cases that pertain to systemic, multi-jurisdictional abuse or
patterns of misconduct. In many instances of alleged abuse by creditors
or their counsel that are reported to the local OUST, the allegations
are best addressed by the private case trustees or by debtor's attorneys
and it would not result in the OUST taking action.
